Identify Society Homeless 366 7/4/2024 day 278, Thursday, Experience is Limitless

7/4/2024 day 278, Thursday, Experience is Limitless

I woke up around 6:30 a.m., I talked to my girlfriend around 7:30 a.m. There’s a spider in my tent and a centipede. There was a mosquito in my tent last night and I was hoping that the spider or centipede might eat it.

Covered by this brush in this thicket I feel safe. One thing I have noticed is I feel more comfortable in nature than I do in the structure of society. It feels more natural to me, society has so many expectations, things are bought and paid for. In nature all you have to do is survive. I’ve struggled to come to the conclusion on whether it is feasible to live solely in nature without the benefits of society. I’ve called my living urban survival because I must rely on social resources. Otherwise I would have to count on nature for food and I don’t want to kill animals, and I don’t know how to find enough plant material to live off of for food.

Leaving Brockton

I decided to leave Brockton, since I had a bad experience at the food provider and shelter Father Bill’s. I packed up all my gear and I rode my bike to the train station and took the 1:04 p.m. train to South Station.

I rode my bike over to North Station where I took the 3:07 p.m. train to Lowell. My girlfriend was working so I spent a good period of time walking around Lowell and exploring. She lives in a bad area, so I wanted to walk around and see if there’s any cool places to go near her apartment, and also keep myself occupied until she comes home.

As I was walking I came across a couple art galleries. Everything seemed to be closed because it was the 4th of July, so I just bookmarked these cool places in my mind. I looked on maps to see if there would be any place open, serving food. I found one place called Charlie’s Pub. I walked in there and it was like walking back in time 40 or so years. All the guys there were older than 60, and they were all drinking. Was as if they were still sitting there after the Vietnam war bus dropped them off back in Lowell. I ended up getting some chicken fingers, and I got a Down East cider. While I was eating my girlfriend texted me to let me know that she was on her way home. I finished my meal and I walked back to her apartment. It was about a 20 minute walk. I passed the projects, I passed some of the businesses on Market Street, until I was once again at her apartment on Appleton Street.

It was around 7:30 p.m. when I arrived at her apartment and we spent the night together there.
