I woke up at my girlfriend’s apartment at around 7:30 a.m. I got up and I got dressed and ready to go play handball and I drove to Lynn around 8:15 a.m.
We have a good crew of guys that play handball with us. Some of them have been around from the beginning which is almost 4 years ago. One of the kids that plays handball with us or should I say a guy. Is a gentleman that we met while he was working on a grounds crew for a pre-release prison program. He started playing with us last year when he was released from prison and he started coming back again this year. He’s doing really good and managing a sober house. It’s always good to see people who find themselves in some of the worst places of society and then turn their lives around. Finding healthy activity with good people is a big part of that. I can speak on this because the things I do, the places I go, and the people I surround myself with have all played an integral role in the changing of my life from destructive to constructive.
After handball I drove to my mother’s house and I spent some time with her, Charlie the dog, and Weezy the cat.
After spending some time at my mother’s I drove back to my girlfriend’s apartment in Lowell and I spent the night with her.
I find myself falling deeper and deeper in love with her once again. Things have been good. One thing I notice when I don’t have a companion is I feel anxious and I feel like something’s missing. To highlight the importance of relationships, your significant other being the closest relationship. I find it is important to develop to the best of your ability these relationships and work to manifest health in all aspects of that relationship. Nothing is perfect, I realize that. I am willing to work on the sticking points in my relationships. It is a matter of balancing out the good stuff with the difficult parts. I always ask myself this question, “is this relationship worth it?”
