Identify Society Homeless 366 4/22/2024 Day 205, Monday, Sick and Working

4/22/2024 Day 205, Monday, Sick and Working

I woke up in my tent. I’m continuing to get sicker and sicker. I laid in bed miserable until it was time to drive to work around 8 a.m. When I got to work, I called my doctor who wants me to come in tomorrow to do a culture on my throat since my throat is so sore.

The Outreach team arrived at the daybreak shelter at 9:00 a.m. The outreach team loaded up the outreach truck with socks, underwear, food, drinks, and cosmetic bags.

At around 11:00 a.m. The Outreach team went to the encampments behind Riverside Church and there we met with eight homeless individuals. We gave them all peanut butter sandwiches, drinks, socks, underwear, and we gave them cosmetic bags. We informed the people that we will be coming through to do rapid rehousing referrals for them and they seemed excited.

At noon we attended a meeting at The harm reduction center with The city’s homelessness officer. We discussed current affairs, and plans on helping the different homeless people throughout the city.

At 1:30 p.m. We came back to the shelter we work out of and ate lunch. And then the outreach team took a ride over to One of the city’s social service providers that takes in our rapid rehousing referrals, because they have a large housing department. We had a discussion with Daya about rapid rehousing and where our referrals would be going and how we can coordinate care for our clients during the housing process.

At 3:00 p.m. the outreach team returned back to the shelter where we wrapped up paperwork, emptied out the truck, Made a connection with the rapid rehousing coordinator Mary at a social service organization in Haverhill, and finished by writing the outreach log.

I left work around 5:30 and drove to Andover to go to a TMF function, where TMF members get together and do activities. I felt really sick, so I isolated myself in the corner, and hung out for a while. Then I left, I was afraid I might get someone else sick. I drove to my camp and I fell asleep right before 8:00 p.m. I need the rest I need to convales.
