I woke up early around 7:30 a.m. My aunt had gotten up around 4:30 a.m. and she was already cleaning. She’s a workhorse. I spent a good period of time in the morning working on writing blogs and getting stuff done that I hadn’t been doing for quite a while.
I took a walk around 9:30 a.m. to get a vape. I bought one the day before and realized how cheap tobacco products are in Phoenix. On my trip I encountered a homeless man and was able to sit down and do an interview with him.
In the late morning my aunt and I drove to see my father. Driving in Phoenix Arizona is a different experience than Massachusetts. The whole city is broken up into a grid. There are six lane highways. All the cars drive really fast and cut in and out to go around each other. If you’re not used to it, it can be pretty hectic.
My father had been moved from the hospital to the assisted living home in the night, which is about a 50 minute drive away. My aunt grabbed my father’s CPAP machine from his house to bring to him. The place my father is rehabbing at is called Desert Blossom. I really do love the desert, Phoenix is a beautiful city.
While we were visiting my father, my father’s friend Mark stopped by and My aunt and I were able to meet him. He’s been very helpful to us in coordinating my father’s care in Arizona.
When we came back to my father’s house, my aunt continued cleaning and I replaced the door handles on my dad’s fiance’s Mitsubishi car. Somehow the internal door handles have been snapped off. My aunt had ordered the parts online. It didn’t take me long to replace the door handles. It was pretty simple. I spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and writing. I Also took a walk and got a burrito from a little Mexican joint down the street. I wasn’t really impressed with the burrito. Tacos Lupitas in Lynn still reigns supreme in the burrito department.
