I woke up at my girlfriend’s apartment around 4:30 a.m. I got ready to hit the road. I caught the 5:45 to North station from Lowell without a minute to spare. I took the train to North station, rode my bike to south station then took the train to Dedham for The Karen Read verdict watch at the Buffer Zone with hundreds of Karen Read Supporters.
I arrived at the Dedham courthouse at around 8:00 a.m. There was already a whole bunch of people hanging around and Karen Read and her legal team arrived early. It seemed like they did some press releases. There must have been about 200 to 300 Karen Reed supporters. It was a wild scene and everybody was wearing pink and had different Karen Reed slogans and anti-corruption slogans on their apparel or signs. I listened to closing arguments on my phone and I spoke with a few friends that I’ve met throughout the Karen Read movement. The jury went to deliberation and no verdict came back today.
I had first planned on riding my bike to the train station in Dedham called Endicott station. I would travel back to South station and then take another line into Brockton where I would stay outside for a couple days until I came back to spend the night with my girlfriend and her son on Friday night and play handball Saturday.
While I was riding my bike to the train station I began to think that I didn’t want to miss out on the not guilty verdict for Karen Read. I saw a wooded path going into a forested area surrounded by residential properties. Because of all the rain we’ve had a growers year this year. There is tons of foliage and vegetation in Massachusetts, which means it’s very easy for me to hide in even small wooded areas.
I decided to take my bike off-road and tuck into the wooded area, set up camp, and spend the night so I could go back and listen to the verdict in the Karen Read case tomorrow hopefully.
