5/28/2024 Day 241, Tuesday, Time to Move on

I woke up in the tent around 8:00 a.m. I’m working off of about 6 hours of sleep. I find I operate best when I get between 7 and 8 hours of sleep, but I will make due. I headed off to work around 8:30 a.m.

I arrived at work at 9:00 a.m. I spent 2 hours organizing the Outreach trailer. Afterwards I took a ride over to the mobile shower unit run by Dreamland and there I spoke with Hector, one of my homeless clients. I walked over to the Harm Reduction Center and I spoke with the two recovery coaches who were standing outside vaping. Then I walked over to the faith-based homeless day shelter and I engaged with the Banchi Brothers, Rolins, his mother Lois, Felicia, and I did housing referrals for Linda and Herman.

Once that was finished at around 1:00 p.m. I came back to the shelter. I walked over to McDonald’s where a group of homeless people were congregated and I engaged with everybody seeing if anyone would be interested in any help or services. There I engaged with Donnie, Alley, and Epi.

When I came back to the shelter at around 2:30 p.m. I took a ride over to Andover to pick up a dinner that was prepared for the shelter by a church that has a kitchen and food pantry.

By the time I got back to the shelter it was after 3:30. I wrapped up my day by doing paperwork and I left at 5:00 p.m.

I drove to my girlfriend’s apartment. I spent the night with her. I’ve been contemplating, pretty heavily, leaving my job and going back to travel around homeless.

My girlfriend and I had a nice night together.
