11/1/23 Day 32, Wednesday, Rockport, Holloween Blues

6:00 a.m. wake up. I’ve been here dog sitting for 3 days now and I feel guilty that I’m not out there running the streets. I drive to Connecticut to pick up donations from an organization I found on Facebook called Hope for Humanity. It’s a newer organization that is designated as a 170 C2 which is a supportive agency for nonprofits. This is something new to me but we definitely need help with donations. It’s about a two and a half hour drive. I stopped to get my oil changed in Beverly Mass at jiffy lube, and I drove all the way to Connecticut to meet with Cassidy who founded Hope for Humanity. I met Cassidy at her small boutique called Cabinet of Curiosities.

12:00 p.m. I arrive in Colchester Connecticut a little after noon and spent some time getting to know Cassidy and her plans for charity. She’s very bright and has a passion for helping people that are unhoused find stable shelter and the resources they need to be successful. We go over a lot of things. I explain some of the stuff that we’ve done with our nonprofit. I show Cassidy some of the platforms The non-profit uses, and we discuss different ways we could work together and how she can develop her own supportive agency for nonprofits.

4:00 p.m. I leave the Cabinet of Curiosities. I stop and get a couple slices of pizza locally. When I’m in a new area I like to stop and get something to eat. It’s a comfort thing and it helps me get a feel for new places.

4:30 p.m. I ride out of Colchester, it takes me almost 3 hours to get back to Rockport. There’s some traffic. I’m just happy that my truck is running good. I arrive back at Lorian’s house at 7:00 p.m. I hang out with Kyle and Jake and their friend Lacey is over. I eat half a sub that I left in the fridge that Lori Ann’s son Josh made me at Subway. I end up laying down on the couch and taking a nap.

9:00 p.m. I drive out to pick up Josh from work. While Josh was cleaning up he spilled some things and made a mess so he had to clean up. I waited for him to lock up the store till 10:00 p.m.  Josh has been more inquisitive about social issues, and government. We end up having a talk about the new deal enacted by FDR and what that meant for the US government in the 1930s.

10:00 p.m. Josh and I ride back to the house. It’s been a long day, I have a truck full of donations, Lorianne comes back from vacation tomorrow. I have a dentist appointment on Friday. Then after that I’m back at it.
