3/28/2024 Day 180, Thursday, Raining 🌧️

7:30 a.m. I woke up in the tent. It’s still a little bit brisk in the morning, and it’s been raining. It’s hard to find the motivation to get moving. I worked on some writing. For some reason I lost track of time and I looked at my watch. It was 8:30 a.m. I scrambled to get to work

I started my day at work at 9:15 a.m. by calling and texting clients that have cell phones. I reached out to Jose, Kenny, Craig, Jose, Omar, Elizabeth, and Robin. Christy from the methadone clinic called and asked if there was a bed available in the shelter for a client. I let her know no beds were available and asked if Christie’s client would be willing to go to drug treatment which I could facilitate.

After cleaning the outreach truck, I went over to the courthouse to have a meeting with the probation officers with My boss and the shelter’s housing coordinator. We put on an amazing presentation. The probation office was happy to know that we provide so many services, and can help their probates. I came back to the shelter. I did paperwork until Jose, a man I talked to earlier, showed up to go to detox. I spent the rest of the afternoon coordinating a detox bed for Jose, by calling local drug treatment facilities.

I stayed late at work till about 7:00 p.m. waiting for the ride to come for Jose to go to treatment.

After work I drove to my campsite. I was exhausted and I didn’t really do any work. It had been a long day. The rain has continued, putting a damper on my plans to do more hiking, running, working out and self-care work. I stayed up for a little while and then just went to sleep.
