2/14/2024 Day 137, Wednesday, Valentine’s Day

5:30 a.m. I woke up. I’ve been generous with gifts lately for my girlfriend. It was her birthday recently, and I have also been getting her little things here and there. I decided to get her a simple Valentine’s Day gift like chocolates and a card. We’ll see what I can rummage up at the last minute today. I get my things together, and I drive out to work.

7:00 a.m. I arrive at work, and I find out that my partner will not be able to make it into work today. I have some appointments with local service providers, which is good. It’ll give me something to do. I continue working on updating the homeless database, as well as doing other projects like building out a resource guide for the people in the street. I want people to be able to access all the resources available to them.

4:30 p.m. I leave work late today, trying to get everything up to speed for the homeless outreach program. When I leave work I go through my messages. My homeless friend Nick from Salem was able to go to the registry and get his car registered. This is wonderful news that now he and his dog will have a vehicle. I’m happy to hear that he was able to achieve his goal. It’s crazy to see how powerful a little networking can be, it wasn’t even a couple weeks ago that Nick was on the brink of giving up.

5:30 p.m. I arrived at my girlfriend’s apartment. I was given a box of chocolates at work, and I stopped at the grocery store on the way to my girlfriend’s apartment grab some food in a Valentine’s Day card for her. She really loves my gift, and she got me a gift of a journal, a leather-bound journal, wish I’m very grateful for and I love. We eat dinner and we take it easy for the night. The plan is that she takes her days off tomorrow and Friday and invest all her energy in packing. We’re in bed by 8:30 p.m.
