I woke up at my girlfriend’s apartment around 8:00 a.m. My girlfriend got ready for work and I got my stuff together to go visit my mother.
I arrived at my mother’s house a little after 11:00 a.m. My mom was on the couch holding the cat laying down. Charlie was all excited to see me. I sat in the living room with my mother and at one point the cat began hissing at my mother while she was holding the cat. I asked my mother why the cat hissed at her. My mom told me that she squeezed the cat because the cat was going to fall off the couch. I wondered to myself if my mother had a sadistic streak in her.
After I hung out at my mother’s house for a few hours I decided to drive to my friend Ed’s house down the street. Ed and I spent some time together and we discussed various things that were going on in our lives. I spoke more than he did. Especially about my relationship struggles, and this ongoing battle. I also discussed many of my revelations from this homeless experience. I talked at length about how being homeless had given me insight and how to direct my life going forward.
I left Ed’s around 6:00 p.m. I drove back towards my girlfriend’s house and stopped at Market Basket to pick up some food for her apartment that I bought with my food stamps.
My girlfriend and I hung out for the night while she worked on whatever college papers. It was a quiet night.
