Human beings are such an apex predator, that the only thing left for them to pray on is each other.
Around 11:00 a.m. I left my girlfriend’s apartment and I drove to Rockport to spend the weekend there to house it for a friend and watch the dogs.
My girlfriend went to pick up her son, and she met me in Rockport around 5:00 p.m. We went to the beach with her son and had a good time.
After the beach, you spent the night at my friend’s house in Rockport. You slept in the master bedroom and we put my girlfriend’s son to sleep in one of the guest rooms. It was a nice getaway.
This week, and a lot of this month has been time for me to reflect. It’s been a deep personal time. With two months left of this project, I am still insecure and do not have a job. I’m still outraged at the level of poverty and deprivation that many people experience in Massachusetts and abroad, due to this addiction and mental health crisis we see before us. Not to mention the economic factors that come into play. I understand the plight of an unhoused person. I believe all people seek stability in their lives. When a person does not have a place to call home, and the resources necessary to facilitate mental health, that person suffers no matter what.
At this point I empathize with those who suffer so much that it’s been difficult to even ask people to do interviews. I’m hoping I can get over this sticking point and continue to talk to people who are homeless and ask the hard questions.
