I woke up at my girlfriend’s apartment around 7:30 a.m. around 8:00 a.m.
I left and I drove out to Lynn to play handball with the homies.
After handball I drove back to my girlfriend’s apartment. We spent most of the day together in bed. She doesn’t have a couch, just a bed for herself and a bed for her son.
Around 5:00 p.m. We went to a party being hosted by one of the community partners I work with in Lawrence. She is the outreach coordinator for a medically assisted treatment provider for substance use disorders. She and her boyfriend lived in an old castle-like building in New Hampshire. It was really beautiful. It even had slate roofs. There were some people that seemed to be in the age of around mid to late ’50s at the party. My girlfriend and I hung out for a little while. We spoke with a really nice couple, the husband was a police officer in Boston at the impact zone where all the homeless people go. We spoke a lot about homelessness and the people that he encountered. My girlfriend did mention that I am living homeless which opened up some conversation as well. We spoke about the situation of addiction, mental illness, and homelessness and we spoke about how just meeting people where they’re at, treating them kindly, and being a friendly face can make a person’s day.
My girlfriend and I left the party and stopped by a pet cemetery that I’d seen on the way. She and I spent some time there looking at all the pet graves. It was actually pretty sprawling and looked like a people’s cemetery.
We left the pet cemetery and drove back to her apartment and we spent the night together.
